Type Project Evaluation
Overall i think most of my type project went quite well, i am also very happy with the final outcomes . I looked into and experimented with handmade type, by making the alphabet out of paperclips and with materials such as glue, gouache, bubble wrap, cardboard and a variety of different inks. I enjoyed making the handmade type faces, and live tracing them so they looked a lot cleaner and bolder and it was easier to adjust and edit them. I think any the type faces i made suited the book i chose as they were a selection of Helvetica designs with different adjustments and effects . (Helvetica, Homage to a typeface) For my final mac-made poster, i created a vector based design to make the initial idea. I liked how this turned out and the simplicity of the whole design makes it represent Helvetica and the red top of the "A" repersents Switzerland as it is a Swiss typeface. The part of the project i enjoyed the most was definitely making the final design on the macs, as i feel i am better at this than making handmade outcomes.

Obama Styled Poster
This here is a piece that i have created in the style of the Barack Obama campaign posters. To create this piece i have used Adobe Illustrator as all of this design is vector based. This design is built up of a selection of different layers and i found that it has created a very interesting and unique effect.

Urban Alphabet
Above is my version of "The Urban Alphabet". I have taken all theses photographs in and around Canterbury town center. I have not adjusted any of the letters, so basically what u see is what is out there. I have edited these photographs within Photoshop and simply added a black and white effect to make them stand out and look unique.

Underground Bike co. (corporate Branding)
These designs are all part of my Corporate Branding brief which was to re-design or create a brand new company and create original logos, business cards, T-shirts ect. These designs all keep to the same "splatter" theme through-out to make it noticeable to the viewer that they are all linked to the same company.
Converse Shoes (Retro Poster)
I was given a brief to create a "retro styled" poster. Through using the appropriate software it has enabled me to create a very detailed and original design that I am very happy with. I also researched into Propaganda posters and the Russian Revolution to help me get more of an insight into the styles and themes of that time period.
District BMX Log
This here is my District BMX Logo that i have created. District BMX is a local riding group that meet up regularly and travel around Kent visiting different riding spots and skateparks. I have created this logo by using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. It is a simple black and white design but i feel this makes it a very eye catching and effective piece. They are also going to make them into stickers and apply them onto t-shirts. Looking forward to seeing printed.
