FMP (Final Major Project)

For my final major project I am going to produce a brochure as a visual documentary of the ins and outs of the BMX scene within Kent. It will be predominantly photographic mixed with typography in a strictly design orientated layout. I will create work that is visually exciting and engaging to the viewer. The brochure will be aimed at those aged from 16+. It is not just for people who ride BMX but also for people who are interested in the urban street culture. It will document a group of BMXers called “District BMX” and will include imagery of the bikes, people and riders, sites, clothes, ect. It will also include interviews and profiles of all the team members.

London trip

On Friday 26th march I when on a trip up into London to gather a selection of primary research that will go towards my FMP (final major project). I got dropped off at Trafalgar Square as my research showed that there were more galleries related to my project within the area. My first gallery that I visited was the NPG (national portrait gallery), which proved to be very interesting, and extremely beneficial to my research. The visit allowed me to gather new ideas and shooting modes and document a wide range of photographers and their work. The gallery is home to photographs by Peter Searle B, Mark Guthrie, Jason Brookes and many more well known photographers.

Above is a brilliant example of a flash based website. I really like the way the site is set out, it grabs and keeps the viewers attention. Follow the link to view more: http://ificandream.com/#/house

This here is a good example of handmade web design. I really like the use of an old folder as a border for each individual design, this theme is carried on through out the website. Follow the link to see more: http://ftdesigner.net/
